Samuel Irvin Charter Services
Please read the following information carefully before you book
To book on our boat please contact us in the first instance by email or telephone to check your required dates are available
You can call us on 01803 834598 / 07780 970803 or email us at - iannoble@tesco.net
Then please download and complete the Charter Booking form and return it to us with a £100 per day deposit
Deposit cheques should be made payable to ‘Ian Noble’ please
Once we have received your booking form we will email you confirmation so please make sure you have included your email address on the booking form
The balance of your charter is due one month prior to the start of your trip
The balance can be paid by Cheque or Cash
Terms and Conditions for Chartering Samuel Irvin 3
We are responsible for:
1. The Condition for any engines, pumps and general condition of the vessel
2. The good condition and easy access to fire fighting and life saving equipment to MCA standard
3. The good working condition of all navigation aids and ancillary equipment
4. All suitable insurance to cover 3rd parties and divers while on board
5. All matters of seamanship and boat handling, including location and marking of dive sites
Please note we are not responsible for any equipment left on board nor is it covered under our Insurance.
If in doubt, please take it off the boat at night.
The Chartering group shall be responsible for.
1. Identifying the dive marshal and his reserve to the skipper
2. Their ability and good conduct
3. Any damage caused by the group to the vessel
4. The supply of and the safe working condition of and suitability of all diving equipment likely to be needed by the group
5. Notifying the skipper of type and depth of the dive site required
6. Notifying the skipper of all planned in water times
7. Any necessary diving permits
8. All cylinders being in test
9. The stowage of all divers’ equipment
10. Making sure that all divers on the trip are qualified, experienced and fit for the dives planned by the Dive Marshall
General Diving Conditions and Terms
All dives over 50m will be classed as a single dive day unless prearranged with the skipper
All dives over 50m at least 1 Nitrox drop tank per group should be available on board
All dives over 50m all divers are required to carry two DSMBs
A Normal days diving (under50m) will consist of a wreck dive and a shallower second dive (wreck or drift) on the way back to port
All summer charters are based on 15miles from Dartmouth and any extra miles will be added to the charter fee
Terms and Conditions of Business / Bookings
To secure a reservation, the signed booking form must be returned with the appropriate deposit of £100 per day booked
Weekend charters are for the whole boat charter, and it is the responsibility of the chartering group to fill any spaces
Midweek charters are booked as a minimum of 6 spaces maximum of 12 spaces and once the agent has booked the spaces it is the responsibility of the agent to inform Ian Noble of any drop or increase in numbers
Samuel Irvin Charter Services has the right to fill any spaces available on midweek charters unless the chartering group would like the take the charter on a whole boat basis
Once past the 6 week dead line the chartering group will be responsible for the full amount for the spaces booked
Cancellations due to bad weather.
Due to the unpredictability of the weather and the unreliable and often incorrect nature of weather forecasts Samuel Irvin Charter Services will not make final decisions on weather until 6pm the night before the charter
This is the time at which the Met Office update their forecast and whilst we appreciate you may be already travelling down, we have seen how easily weather and conditions can change overnight
On Trimix weekends if Samuel Irvin 3 is able to get out to a 20m plus wreck the chartering group will be expected to honour the booking.
In the rare occurrence that weather forces the trip to be cancelled, Samuel Irvin Charter Services will refund any deposits owed to the chartering group or hold the deposit over to a subsequent booking if possible
Cancellations due to a change of circumstances beyond Samuel Irvin Charter Services control
More than 6 weeks notice deposit is lost
Less than 6 weeks notice full amount due, unless we are able to re-book the trip, in which case only the deposit is lost
(This includes individual’s bookings as well as group)
